Odds & Ends

Finding pieces is one of our favourite parts of the process. We spend a lot of time hunting through markets, online marketplaces, auctions, and Trade Me in search of unique finds.

We still love a good thrift store treasure, although they’re getting harder to come by these days. We also source pieces while travelling overseas, bringing home items with character, history, and a story to tell.

No two sourcing trips are ever the same, which is what makes it so much fun.

How shipping is charged:

Due to the nature of all the different sized and fragility of the items, we have standardised the shipping to be as fair as possible across the whole of NZ.
Rural charges should be applied if a rural address is chosen ($6).
South Island: some items that fit into a parcel and aren’t super fragile will be posted in a parcel bag to keep costs low for you. Some more fragile items such as glassware will only be shipped in boxes which will reflect in the delivery cost.

Time frame

We aim to dispatch all orders within 3 business days. If there are any unexpected delays, we’ll let you know as soon as possible.

Shipping Areas

We currently ship throughout New Zealand using NZ Post for reliable and tracked delivery. If you’re located overseas, please get in touch via email before purchasing. International shipping can be expensive from New Zealand, and all overseas shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

Local delivery may be arranged within 25km of Auckland city at the buyer’s cost and by prior agreement on a suitable date and time. Please note that we are unable to provide upstairs delivery.

Every item is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely and ready to be enjoyed.

Returns

As most of our pieces are vintage, antique, or pre-loved, we generally do not accept returns unless there are exceptional circumstances, however we carefully check or refurbish items that need it.

We believe the character, age, and history of each item are part of what makes it special. Any notable flaws or signs of wear will always be clearly described and photographed, so please read the listing and view all images carefully before purchasing.

As this is a vintage or antique second-hand item, some wear and imperfections are to be expected and form part of its character. We love sourcing special pieces with history, character, and unique charm that bring individuality and flair to your home.
While we make every effort to accurately describe and photograph any known faults or damage, signs of age and use are often part of what makes these items so distinctive. We believe perfection is overrated, and that true beauty lies in the character, craftsmanship, and story that only time can create. Please review all photos and descriptions carefully before purchasing.

Our Style

Every vintage reseller has their own specialty and unique eye. Ours leans towards the fun, colourful, and unexpected—which is exactly why we chose the name Odds & Ends.

While our collection is mostly centred around pieces from the 1970s, 80s, and 90s, we occasionally come across something special from the 1950s or earlier. Although we appreciate antiques, they aren’t our main area of focus.

We have a particular soft spot for beautiful barware, wacky coffee sets, handmade folk art, tapestries, wooden carvings, and curious paintings. You’ll also find plenty of lamps in our collection—we see them as functional art pieces that can completely transform a space.

From time to time we source furniture too, but only when it’s something truly unique, interesting, and impossible to leave behind.
